About Downtown Prince George
Downtown is where the civic life of Prince George actually happens — City Hall, the courthouse, the Civic Centre, Two Rivers Gallery, and the library all within a few blocks. Housing skews toward condos and rentals near the core, with character homes on the edges as you move toward Connaught Hill. It's walkable in a way most of PG isn't, and the city has put real money into the downtown core over the past few years: the Canfor Leisure Pool opened in 2022, and the 2024 Civic Core District Plan greenlit a new performing arts centre, a second ice arena, and mixed-use residential. Buyers who want to walk to work, to a show, or to a Cougars game skip the garage door altogether.
