Bear Lake is a small lake community roughly 70 kilometres north of Prince George off the Hart Highway (Hwy 97). Most properties sit on large lots: a mix of year-round homes and seasonal cabins. The lake is the main draw, with good fishing (kokanee and rainbow trout mostly) and big lots. The drive back to town takes about 50 minutes on good roads. People come out for the summers and end up staying.
